A BIT ABOUT ANDREW:
With a career spanning over four decades as a construction professional, Andrew joins the Executive Search and Consulting industries bringing his vast knowledge and experience to Hatteras Capital Advisors. Andrew’s journey began at age 15, mixing plaster for acoustical ceilings on residential job sites. From those humble beginnings in Kansas City’s union-driven masonry trade, he cultivated a passion for construction that would lead to an extraordinary career managing complex projects and building successful businesses.
Married with three daughters and five grandchildren, Andrew enjoys an active lifestyle with a focus on fitness and faith-based activities. As an empty nester, he values spending time with his family and staying engaged with the community.
Andrew’s Career Progression
Andrew has dedicated the majority of his career to the General Construction Services industry, working on a diverse range of projects including airports, federal facilities, healthcare, higher education, and high-rise developments in major markets like New York City and New Jersey. During the 1980s, he held key roles on notable projects such as Rockefeller Center and the Chase Manhattan Plaza, achieving the position of Project Manager early in his career.
In the southeastern U.S., he established roots as the Director of Operations for a regional construction firm before acquiring and rebranding his own firm in 2010. Starting with small projects from the back of a pickup truck, he successfully expanded operations into the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC markets. By 2014, the firm had a dual presence across southern and northeastern regions, undertaking prestigious projects such as:
- The United States Vice-President’s Residence
- Marine One Helicopter Facility
- Restoration of the Ellis Island Immigration Building
- The Statue of Liberty Beach Armoring Project
- The Netherlands Carilion Bell Tower
Under his leadership, the firm grew to over $60 million in annual revenue by 2020, navigating market expansions and securing high-profile clients.
